SINGAPORE: Eight men were arrested on Thursday (Mar 31) for various immigration offences during a multi-agency joint enforcement operation near Yew Tee Industrial Estate, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said.
Authorities seized 74 cartons, 164 packets and 25 sticks of duty unpaid cigarettes during the operation, the police said in a news release on Saturday.

The operation, which involved officers from SPF, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and Singapore Customs, targeted immigration offenders who were also known to be involved in the peddling of contraband cigarettes, the release said.
Investigations against the eight suspects are ongoing.
